Epsom & Ewell Borough Council Strategy and Resources Committee and Council met on Monday evening 4 July 2022 in order to consider and direct the appointment of a new Chief Executive. The meetings were listed on the website to provide transparency for residents and in accordance with legal requirements.

A resolution was passed to exclude the media and public and documents which were considered by the Committee and Council following this resolution have not been published for the reasons stated on the website and public agenda.

These meetings were part of the required democratic process to ensure a robust recruitment of the most senior Chief Officer position of the Council. 

The outcome of the meeting is that recruitment for a permanent Chief Executive will begin in the coming months and, until the arrival of that person, the existing Director of Corporate Services, Jackie King, has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive.
