Christmas and New Year collections

Christmas and New Year collections.

Leave your bins out for collection in a clearly visible place at the edge of your property by 6.30am on collection day. Please note we work as normal on bank holiday Mondays and Good Friday. What happens if a collection is missed?

Quick guide to what goes where

It's really important to put the right thing in the right bin. What if the Council can't recycle it?

Weekly textiles, clothing, shoes and accessories recycling

Please leave textiles, clothing, shoes and accessories out for recycling in a clear, sealed, labelled bag next to your other recycling.

Don't put your textiles in your green recycling bin. Leave it separately in a clear, sealed, labelled bag next to your bins. Putting textiles in your green recycling bin is expensive because it has to be sorted out and must then be disposed of as refuse. Always put the right thing in the right bin.

Please recycle:

  • Clothes
  • Home textiles such as curtains quilt-covers, pillow-cases etc (not the pillows, duvets or cushions themselves please - just the covers)
  • Paired shoes
  • Bags and belts

Please don't recycle:

  • Pillows, duvets and cushions - we can only recycle the covers
  • Heavily soiled or worn items

What happens to your recycling?
