You will collect fallen leaves or bring your own leaves and cut out shapes and then arrange them in a composition on a transparent sheet. While you are doing this you will learn about the Hogsmill River who’s source is in Bourne Hall Park, as well as see example prints. You will then slide a piece of cyanotype paper underneath the sheet and leave the whole thing in the sun for about 5 minutes to expose. The paper will change colour from light to dark green. Discarding the objects and transparent sheet, you will then submerge the sheet in the tray of water for about a minute. The paper will turn blue and white. The prints will then be left to completely dry. You will be shown through the process and helped at each stage. It is a fairly quick process, but people can spend as long as they like making their compositions, it should take about 30 minutes.
