Please note: To use this service you must be a member of Meals at Home with a minimum meals at home delivery on the day you receive your shopping. A minimum delivery is either a meal and pudding or two tea services.
The Shopping Service runs weekly in partnership with a local supermarket and provides a home delivery service for your essential food shopping needs.

Commonly asked questions
How does it work?
The shopping is delivered to your home on a weekly, fortnightly or on an as and when basis, depending on your requirements. The day before the shopping is due our friendly wellbeing staff will contact you by telephone to take down your shopping list.
Your shopping list is then passed on to the local supermarket. The supermarket staff will pack the ordered items and total the cost.
Our delivery drivers pick up your shopping from the supermarket the next day and deliver the items to your home address. When the groceries are delivered, the shop receipt will be provided for you to check. There is no minimum shopping order, payment is made by direct debit.
Who can use the shopping service?
You can use our shopping service if you are a resident of the borough, have difficulties shopping for yourself and are already receiving Meals at Home.
How do I start the shopping service?
You will need to be referred by your family, GP, social services or health visitor. Our shopping service team will call you once a week at a designated time when you can supply your shopping list over the phone.
When do I get my shopping?
Your shopping is delivered on an agreed day, weekly or fortnightly between 2pm and 4pm.
How do I pay?
There is a charge for the delivery of your shopping. You can pay by cash or cheque on the day of the delivery. When your shopping is delivered, the shop recipt will be provided.
