Background of the Round the Borough Hike & Bike...
The Round the Borough Hike and Bike (RBHB) route aims to build on the London 2012 Olympic legacy and the success of hosting Stage 7 of the Tour of Britain in 2013. The RBHB is an off-road route approximately 20 miles long that joins up the beautiful spaces in Epsom and Ewell. This includes Epsom Downs, Epsom Common Local Nature Reserve (LNR), Nonsuch Park, the Hogsmill LNR and Horton Country Park LNR.
The route is permanently marked with discs and can be completed at any time of the year. We suggest using off-road cycles if you are intending to cycle the route.
Round the Borough Hike and Bike challenge
Every year two separate events take place, incorporating a hike (walk) and a bike (cycle). Both events are marshalled along the 20 mile route, with the event starting and finishing at Horton Country Park LNR. The event is free to register and each participant who completes the route receives a certificate. The Hike and Bike challenge involves the completion of both events, one after the other. This does not have to be in the same calendar year. Participants who complete the challenge will receive a commemorative medal. Both events are free and open to all ages and abilities. Please note that you can enter one or both events. To register please select the registration form link at the top of the page.
