Mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

You are invited to take part in a National Moment of Reflection to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and reflect on her life and legacy.  

The National Moment of Reflection will take place at 8pm on Sunday 18 September, the night before the State Funeral, and be marked by a one-minute silence.  

The silence can be marked privately at home, with friends and family, out on doorsteps or the street with neighbours, or at locally arranged community events and vigils. 

 

Local public live streaming of the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday 19 September

Christ Church, Epsom Common

From 10am the broadcast from the BBC will be shown on a large screen in the church including the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Coffee and tea will be available. All are welcome to come for as long or as short a time as you would like, whether it be to watch the funeral with others, to pray and light a candle or to sign the Book of Condolence.

The church bells at Christ Church, Epsom Common will be rung at the appropriate times.

St Martin of Tours, Epsom with St Stephen-on-the-Downs

You are warmly invited to join St Martin’s to watch the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which will be live streamed from 10.30am. Refreshments will be provided.

Stoneleigh Baptist Church

The funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be live streamed from 10am. Hot and cold refreshments will be available.

Guildford Cathedral 

The BBC Broadcast of the coverage of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be screened live at Guildford Cathedral on Monday 19 September between 10am and 5pm. 

The café will be closed, however there will be the opportunity to make tea and coffee in the Cathedral.

St John’s, Stoneleigh 

A thanksgiving service dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held on Saturday 17 September at 5pm. 

Ruxley Church

A short service of prayer and reflection in memory of Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Sunday 18 September at 6pm. Please feel free to go and lay flowers in her memory at the peace stone, sit in the garden of reflection, say a prayer or light a candle in the foyer in her memory.

Queen Elizabeth II Lying-in-State at Westminster Hall Wednesday 14 September until 19 September

Guidance has been issued for how public can attend Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second's Lying-in-State at Westminster Hall. You can find more information on this, and on travel into London and Windsor during this time, on the Surrey County Council website.

The BBC has launched a dedicated stream of the Queen lying in state, for people who want to pay their respects virtually. The service is being offered globally for those who want to pay their respects but cannot travel to London or are physically unable to queue.
