Weather warning - Storm Dennis

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning (be prepared) for Saturday and Sunday. Storm Dennis will bring spells of heavy rain and strong winds at times over the weekend. Some flooding is possible along with disruption to travel.

Update: The risk of river and surface water flooding for this general area has been raised to amber (be prepared) on Sunday due to a forecast of persistent heavy rain

What to expect
• Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
• There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings from the wind, such as tiles blown from roofs
• Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible
• Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
• Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads
• There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
