Hook Road car park has been converted to a barrier controlled system with effect from Monday 2 April 2012.

This will enable us to be more environmentally friendly by using tokens/cards instead of paper tickets. The costs to patrol the car park will decrease allowing Civil Enforcement Officers to patrol on street.

As you enter the car park you will be issued with a token. When you are ready to leave, inserting the token into one of the pay machines calculates the length of your stay and amount due. Compared to pay and display, this system helps people to avoid overstaying the time their ticket allowed which can lead to a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.

Regular users of the car park may benefit from obtaining a Regular Parker card.

Disabled Blue Badge holders may wish to apply for a Blue Badge Parker card. This enables the user to benefit from the free final hour of parking available to Blue Badge holders in our pay and display car parks.
