These services are for items of household waste which cannot fit into your wheelie bin due to size or weight. This may include such items as fridges, freezers, washing machines or furniture.
Can my old furniture or electrical items be reused instead of just being thrown away?
The Surrey Reuse Network
works with various charities to reuse and recycle good quality furniture and electrical items.
Please note that the Vine Project, which has previously worked to reuse and recycle furniture in Epsom & Ewell, has unfortunately ceased operating due to lack of funds.
Taking bulky waste to the tip
Bulky items can also be taken to the Civic Amenity Site ('the tip') in Blenheim Road. Individual items may be recycled, depending on type.
If I cannot recycle my bulky waste, can the Council collect it?
The Council can collect bulky waste for a charge. For more details please contact us on 01372 732000 or fill in our online form. Please note:
- Payments made by credit card are subject to a 1.5% charge
- You can pay by cash or cheque in person at the Town Hall
- If posting cheques please attach a note clearly stating what the payment is for. Do not post cash.
- Once booked and paid for, bulky waste collections are non-refundable.
Bulky waste collections are made between 6:30am and 5pm. Please ensure that your items are out for collection by 6:30am.
Where appropriate, we may need to provide an individual quote for unusual items or for the collection of large quantities of material. We will arrange to visit you to view the items if necessary.
A 50% discount is available for recipients of certain means-tested benefits. Proof of eligibility will be required.
Garden waste recycling
Individual loads of garden waste can be collected on a recycling-only basis. Again, costs will vary dependent on the amount of waste you wish to dispose of. Please contact us as above.
We may first require each request to be assessed by our Operational Services department. We will not be able to offer a collection service for garden waste unless it is uncontaminated and fully suitable for recycling.
What garden waste can be recycled?
How can I pay?
Payments can be made by debit or credit card by telephoning 01372 732000, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
Alternatively, payments may be made in cash, cheque or debit/credit card at the Town Hall.
Cheques, made payable to Epsom & Ewell Borough Council and accompanied by documentation which clearly identifies the reason for the payment, may be sent by post to:
