The policy team is working on the production of a number of Local Plan documents. Once adopted these will form part of the Development Plan for the Borough. Documents are produced in accordance with Government Regulations. Emerging policy documents are a material consideration in the determination of planning applications. The amount of 'weight' given to a document depends on how developed it is.

What is the Local Plan?
|A local plan sets out local planning policies and identifies how land is used, determining what will be built where. Adopted local plans provide the framework for development across England. Public consultation on the Pre-Submission Site Allocations Policies Document ran from Monday 2 November until Monday 14 December 2015. This is the final stage of consultation on this document before it is submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination.
Sustainable Design Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
