Active Surrey LogoLeisure Developments work in partnership with Active Surrey to provide local opportunities for sport participation and competition. The scheme also works to develop the knowledge of local coaches and officials as well as help to raise the profile and standards of local clubs. Each year we organise a number of different sports courses that cater for all abilities and are run by highly qualified coaches, often linked to local clubs with junior sections.

Within the Active Surrey 'Sports Clubs and Coach Development' programme, Epsom & Ewell Borough Council will be hosting numerous education workshops that are designed to provide up-to-date information and training within a wide range of topics. For the upcoming months, the courses in Epsom will include:

Grow Your Club
 - These free annual forums assist Surrey's sports clubs with their development by providing up to date information and resources.

Sports clubs in Epsom & Ewell learnt how to attract new members at an event held by Active Surrey. The Surrey Sports Club Forum introduces clubs to sport development experts.

The forums, now in their third year, are designed to help clubs market themselves more effectively to entice new members, and offer advice on funding. Club bosses were given tips on the financial aspects of running a sports club as well as developing their club through Club Mark. They also met members of their national governing body and local authority to discuss possible opportunities.

Forum organiser, Hannah Sprake said: “Volunteers are the back bone of every sports clubs and it is important that we support them in every way we can. The forums help to protect and improve the clubs involved, which in turn means players get to benefit from high quality sports provision”.
