Epsom & Ewell Borough Council’s Home Improvement Agency (EEHIA)
Most people want to stay in their own homes as they get older and Epsom & Ewell Borough Council’s Home Improvement Agency has been created to help people do just that!
Who can we help?
Our Home Improvement Agency will assist elderly, vulnerable and disabled residents to access services that will help them to live independently and comfortably in their homes.
What sort of work do we do?
We can help you if you need repairs, adaptations or improvements to your home, enabling you to stay in your own home in a warm, safe and secure environment.
We will support you through the repair, maintenance, improvement or adaptation of your home using grants, charity funding and equity release, or by helping you to access any other service you may require.
If you are awarded a grant (may be subject to eligibility criteria) or financial assistance we will help and support you through the whole process and will keep you fully up-to-date as matters progress.
We are able to offer help or advice on such matters as adaptations, repairs, energy efficiency and benefit entitlement.
From small repairs to major improvements, EEHIA is here to help you. These are just a few examples of the work we have assisted residents with:
- Decoration and plastering
- Heating and insulation
- New doors and windows
- Roof repairs and maintenance
- Home Security measures
- Level access showers.
How does the service work?
We will visit you at home to discuss your needs and help you find the right solution.
We will help you get quotations, advise on reliable contractors and oversee the whole job from start to finish.
We will also help you deal with any disruption during the work, or unexpected snags that can arise once the work is completed.
If we can’t help you, we will do our best to put you in touch with someone who can.
How can I apply for assistance?
If you think you meet the criteria for assistance, please register your enquiry by contacting us on 01372 732000 or email HIA@epsom-ewell.gov.uk
