Housing Services offers a rent deposit scheme that assists certain households who are threatened with homelessness to find private rented accommodation. The scheme liaises between private landlords, agents & tenants and gives advice on welfare benefit entitlements.

This scheme helps those who are threatened with homelessness and referrals to the scheme can only be made by a Housing Options Officer after a client has had a Housing Options assessment.  This scheme also looks at assisting with tenancy sustainment by acting as an advocate between the tenant and the landlord throughout the tenancy and by offering advice and practical support designed to help people keep their homes.
